A Certified Kitchen or Bathroom Designer is a professional, qualified by education and experience to research, design, plan and supervise the installation of residential kitchens and bathrooms.

The CKD and CBD designations are awarded only by the Society of Certified Kitchen Designers and the Society of Certified Bathroom Designers, the official licensing and certification agencies of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. The certifications are awarded upon successful completion of stringent examinations which guarantee technical understanding, industry knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively.
